The main failure form of the radiator of diesel generator set is water leakage. The main reasons are: during the work, the fan blade breaks or tilts, breaks the radiator water pipe, the radiator is not fixed firmly on the support, and the radiator is damaged by large vibration; in winter, the radiator water pipe freezes due to water storage, and the impurities in the cooling water form scale in the radiator water pipe The pipe wall is corroded and cracked.
Generally speaking, the radiator of diesel generator set is cleaned before water leakage inspection. The following two methods can be used for inspection:
1. Plug the inlet and outlet of the radiator, install a joint from the overflow pipe or drain plug, inject 0.15-0.3kgf/cm2 compressed air, and then put the radiator into the pool. If there is a bubble place, it is a leak.
2. Check by irrigation. During the inspection, the water inlet and outlet of the radiator are blocked. After filling the water from the water filling port, observe whether there is water leakage. In order to find the small cracks, a certain pressure can be applied to the radiator or the radiator can be vibrated slightly. Then, after careful observation, there will be water leakage at the leakage point.
Soldering is usually used to repair radiator
Before welding, wipe the oil from the welding area, scrape out a new metal layer with a scraper, and then heat it properly. After the soldering iron is heated, dip it in the zinc oxide solution, and then stick the solder. After bonding, the weld shall be leveled, and the zinc oxide around the weld shall be cleaned with hot water to prevent corrosion.
1. Welding repair of upper and lower chambers: when the leakage of upper and lower chambers is not large, solder can be used directly. If the leakage is large, repair with purple steel sheet. During repair welding, apply a layer of solder on one side of the steel sheet and the broken part, place the steel sheet at the leakage place, and then heat the outside with a soldering iron to melt the solder and weld the surrounding area firmly.
2. Welding repair of radiator water pipe: if the outer water pipe of radiator is broken and the break is not large, the heat sink near the water pipe can be removed a little with pointed nose pliers, and then directly repaired with solder. If the breach is large or the middle water pipe leaks, the methods of pipe sticking, pipe plugging, connecting pipe and pipe replacement should be adopted according to the specific situation. However, the number of pipe stuck and blocked shall not exceed 10% of the number of main pipes, so as to avoid affecting the heat dissipation effect of radiator of diesel generator set.
